The Replacements documentary Color Me Obsessed screening at the MAG

Lakeshore Record Exchange and the Memorial Art Gallery announce the July Film in their Alternative Music Film Series: The Replacements - Color Me Obsessed

Rochester, NY July 2, 2013

Replacements

On Friday July 19th, Lakeshore Record Exchange in conjunction with The Memorial Art Gallery debut the third film of the Alternative Music Film Series. The Replacements - Color Me Obsessed.
Director Gorman Bechard's remarkable history of the Replacements takes us from their first show as the Impediments to their 1991 onstage breakup in Chicago, and everywhere in between highlighting their music, photos, and live footage, by relying solely on the fans perspective: their well-kept memories, hilarious anecdotes, and differing points of views about the foursome's wildly varied discography and infamous antics. Featuring musicians such as Husker Du, Babes in Toyland, The Decemberists, The Hold Steady, Archers of Loaf, Titus Andronicus, and Goo Goo Dolls; writers such as Jack Rabid, Legs McNeil, Robert Christgau, Jim DeRegotis, and Greg Kot; and actors such as George Wendt, Tom Arnold, and Dave Foley. Sprinkled in among that esteemed group are the more mainstream fans, who often give the most insightful and heartfelt perspectives of all.

The evening will begin at 6:30 pm with a cocktail party in the Atrium of the Memorial Art Gallery, 500 University Avenue. The film will start at 8 PM.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.alternativemusic.com/film and the Memorial Art Gallery Box office for $10 OR at the door – Cash only, Seating is limited to 290, so get there early. There will be prizes and give-a-ways.
